GE Fanuc Brings Many Part Exhibition To IMTS 2008

CHICAGO, IL, SEPTEMBER 8, 2008 GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, today announced its booth line up for the IMTS 2008 trade show to be held in Chicago’s McCormick Center, September 8-13, 2008. Various stations will be set up around the booth featuring hardware, software and engineered solutions for machine tool manufacturers. GE Fanuc will be available in Booth A-8418.

“This is our most comprehensive booth yet for IMTS,” said Tomo Ishibe, GE Fanuc’s CNC Executive Vice President. “As in past years, we will be showcasing our leading control solutions for builders and end users alike. This year, more than ever before, GE Fanuc will be displaying our capabilities beyond CNC systems to incorporate our the breadth of our control, software and engineering solutions.”

Proficy Machine Tool Efficiency
GE Fanuc will be displaying its powerful Proficy Machine Tool Efficiency (MTE) software at the show, specifically designed to collect OEE data from the factory floor.

GE Fanuc’s New Machine Intelligence Family of Software
A brand new family of products designed to bring data collection capabilities to manufacturing companies large and small will be demonstrated at the booth. These are:
• miView, a scalable web-based software that focuses on efficiency data collection and control
• miView-e, which features the capability to monitor the efficiency of an individual machine, embedded directly on the CNC control and available for many of our i series CNCs.

New GE Fanuc Software Solutions
Asset Life Maintenance Management is a solution designed to track individual machine components and their needs for preventative maintenance based on actual usage rather than the traditional calendar-based method.

And, Proficy Change Management for CNC, is a solution that reduces downtime costs associated with not backing up and controlling critical CNC files.

MTConnect
A revolutionary new communications protocol designed to enable unprecedented connectivity between all types of machine tools, will be featured at IMTS. GE Fanuc has played a key role in this standard’s development and is excited to showcase this new capability at its booth and in the Emerging Technology Center along with AMT.

Factory Automation Solutions
Custom, comprehensive engineering and automation solutions available from GE Fanuc’s expert engineering team will also be showcased, including several examples of integrated hardware, software and support applications that are available on a fully customizable basis to help our customers drive Lean manufacturing in their operations.

5-Star Retrofit
Also in the booth, GE Fanuc will be highlighting its 5-Star Retrofit program, offering comprehensive CNC retrofits through our network of authorized retrofit partners. Retrofits offer a cost effective solution for improving existing machine tool performance with the latest control system technologies.
